The Joyce Van Lines Story

Joyce Moving & Storage, Inc. was established by William H. Joyce.

Began as a small local business, leasing a warehouse on Canal Street in Stamford, CT.

Started operations with two trucks, leveraging Will’s business acumen, determination, and strong work ethic.

The company expanded due to increased demand.

Purchased its first warehouse and office facility at 52 Dyke Lane, Stamford, CT.

Obtained 48-state authority as a motor carrier.

Transitioned to a nationwide carrier of household goods, office furniture, trade shows, high-value products, and other commodities.

Built a custom 70,000 square foot service center in Oxford, CT.

This facility became the home of Joyce of New England, Inc., supporting the company’s east coast operations.

Joyce Van Lines, Inc. was incorporated in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responded to deregulation in the moving industry and the consolidation of conventional van line services.

Committed to a business model where all shipments are handled and moved by Joyce personnel and vehicles to maintain quality service nationwide.

Joyce expanded into other markets across the U.S., opening full-service moving and storage companies in Connecticut, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Indiana, Texas, and California.

Emphasized company-owned facilities to ensure quality and control.

Purchased a 54,700 square foot climate-controlled warehouse facility in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Enhanced southern capabilities for storage and hauling.

Focused on establishing mutually beneficial relationships with clients and communities.

Continues to expand by adding proven professionals to the Joyce team nationwide.
